Yes, all Insure4Drones policies comply with Regulation (EC) 785/2004 as required by the CAA.
Yes, you can choose to cover the drone for Liability only, Drone only or Drone & Liability.
Liability cover protects your legal liability for third party property damage or injury whilst using your drone. All commercial drone operators should have Liability cover. Our Liability cover provides the following:
- Third party liability from £1million to £10million
- Includes cover for acts of war, terrorism, hijacking, acts of sabotage, unlawful seizure of aircraft and civil commotion (required under EU Regulation No 785/2004)
Yes, our Liability cover does include war and terror which is required by the CAA. We only exclude damage to the drone itself caused by war and terror.
Yes, there is no limit to the number of drones you can insure on one policy providing the total value of drones does not exceed £50,000. The maximum amount for any one drone is £25,000.

Yes, we provide cover for using your drone in certain countries worldwide. To see the list of countries we cannot cover please click here.
We can provide Flight Test Insurance for just £25 which will cover you for your assessment only. Then, if you take out an annual policy with Insure4Drones once you’ve passed your test, we’ll deduct the £25 cost of your Insure4Drones Flight Test Insurance off your annual premium.
You will need to get permission from the CAA. The CAA will be able to advise you on how you can get the relevant licences and permissions. Click here to visit their website.
We can only cover pilots who have been granted their Permission for Commercial Operations (PFCO). Unfortunately, if you don’t have this licence we will not be able to cover you.
No, unlike other insurers we do not restrict the number of hours you can fly your drone.
We are currently unable to provide cover for this.
Providing you have selected Liability cover and you are complying with all relevant laws and air regulations you will be covered up to the limit you selected.
No, we are only able to provide annual cover.
You must abide by any law, regulation, or government order which applies to the airspace you are flying in. You must also comply with all manufacturer guidelines.
You can add a drone that doesn’t belong to you to your existing policy. The drone will be insured for Liability only, we cannot insure the drone for theft, loss or damage.
If you enter someone’s land without their permission, you may be prosecuted for trespass. If you damage any of their property when retrieving your drone e.g. crops, we can provide trespass cover which will help to cover the cost of any damage.
If the drone has been modified, it may invalidate the policy. Adding ancillary equipment does not count as a modification. If you wish to discuss any modifications that have been made to your drone, please contact our customer service department.
Providing you have picked cover for the drone you will be covered for theft. There must be signs of forced entry into a locked building or vehicle and you must report the crime to the police and obtain a Police Crime Reference Number.

Algeria, Burundi, Far North Region of Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic of Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Somalia, The Republic of Sudan, South Sudan, Columbia, Peru, Afghanistan, Jammu & Kashmir, North Korea, Pakistan, Abkhazia, Donetsk & Lugansk regions of Ukraine, Nagorno-Karabakh, North Caucasian, Federal District, South Ossetia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, North Sinai Province of Egypt (including Taba International Airport), Syria & Yemen. Any country where the operation of the insured drone is in breach of United Nations sanctions.
